What is Ikat?
Ikat is an ancient process of creating a beautiful, hand-woven cloth. The individual warp threads are tie-dyed by hand (sometimes the weft as well, creating a double Ikat) before they put the warp on the loom, and then weave by hand with a weft thread.
The joy of ikat is this beautiful variation within the pattern, adding a unique look to clothing made with this cloth. You may notice slight differences across the length of cloth, these are simply part of the natural beauty of the hand crafted process, as opposed to an industrial, uniform look.
